Cinderford hosted   the Berkshire tourists in an entertaining encounter at Dockham Rd ,The Foresters started brightly winning several good phases of possession with winger Andrew Johnson making good ground ,the pressure was relieved when a poor pass saw the Reds ten make a good clearance kick , The Reds front jumper was impressive in the lineout all game and stole a Cinderford throw to set up a good position , a fine tackle from openside Harry Johnson stopped the attack centre Lee Turley made good ground , Cinderford battled up to the visitors 22 where a well rehearsed blind side scrum move saw Scrum half Hoult put winger Skelton over in the corner . From the kick off the visitors stormed back and their county winger squeezed over in the corner, the conversion went wide as the half time whistle went.

 

Once again the Forest front five who have rarely been bested this season were too much for the bigger visitors to handle , Tony Turley, Rhys Hopkins, Nathan Morgan , Zac Miles and Adam Marsh all outstanding  from a scrum Captain and number 8 Jack Shields stormed forward ,good hands from Kemp set flanker Johnson away for an early score .

Not to be out done Redingensians came back  to level the score , The Foresters rallied with centres Skipsey and Turley combing well to make a good ground , with the Davis brothers at 9 and 10  Cinderford looked dangerous when they moved the ball , More brothers were looking sharp with Dan and Guy Pearson both making good tackles ,Sam Jackson took the field usually a scrum half Jackson was pressed into service at flanker and had a fine game , replacement hooker Caine Harris took the field and slotted straight into the scrum well .. The next scrum saw Redingensians surge forward their fly half kicked ahead the ball was collected by full back AJ Jenkins who sliced through the defence he kicked ahead and centre Lee Turley collect the bouncing ball he then outpaced the defence to score under the posts, Charlie Davis converted to close out a good end of season victory .

Cinderford completed their County cup group game with another emphatic victory over the Stow visitors , The Foresters were soon on the attack with some great inter passing allowing winger Mitch Skelton to score wide out  , once again the front  five of Nathan Morgan , Tony Turley , Rhys Hopkins  with locks Adam Marsh and Zac Miles in the boiler house  adding all the grunt the Stow forwards  were unceremoniously shoved backwards on every put in  from one shove industrious number 8 Jack Shields picked up making good ground , lock Marsh was up in support to dive over  the try was converted by Charlie Davis .

From the restart Cinderford were on the attack a nice miss pass from fly half Lee Turley who  had a good game in difficult conditions sent centre  Robson Skipsey away to score . With Cinderford really dominating every area of play and Stow were finding attack difficult  scrum half Sam Jackson darted over to  score with Davis adding the conversion . The back row of Allcock , Shields and Johnson were appearing all over the pitch with Allcock responsible for turning over many rucks , Johnson linking well with the backs and Shields eating up yards from the scrums Stow were on the defensive again .

 Playing up the slope  following half time Stow rallied  and made some good ground only a good tackle from William Kemp keeping them out . A good backs move sent full back AJ Jenkins into space he chipped forward and winger Kemp nearly scored , Good line out ball was won and fly half Lee Turley glided through the defence with the conversion added the Foresters brought on all the replacements , Lock Henry Tilling making a good take at the line out from  great throw by hooker  Caine Harries the ball was moved along the backs by Hoult and taken up by Dan Pearson , quick ruck ball saw lock Marsh on hand again to outsprint the defence to score . Another fine restart saw Guy Pearson make a 50 meter break with a desperate tackle felling him just  10 meters out , again Marsh was up in support to sprint away for his third try and signal the end of the game

Frampton Cottrell U 14s 0 V Cinderford U 14s 41

Cinderford played some great running rugby to emphatically defeat  a spirited Frampton team, early bursts from wingers Mitch Skelton and Guy Pearson put the Foresters on the attack but  first on the score sheet was in form prop Rhys Hopkins who surged over from a ruck  ,  converted by Full back  Charlie Davies,  the Cinderford backs missed two early opportunities by failing to move the ball to the wings quickly  however on the next attempt centre Dan Pearson dived over , Number 8 Jack Shields was proving to be a handful for the Frampton boys making some great runs off the back of the scrum , one rumbling drive saw scrum half Jackson swoop the ball away to the impressive Robson Skipsey to score a fine try . Once again the front five  of Nathan Morgan , Hopkins, Tony Turley, Adam Marsh and Williams Kemp  were dominating the scrum   shoving the home side off every put in  , from the next breakdown lock Adam Marsh surged over to score Davis converted .

In the second half it was just more of the same with one passage of play sparked by Fly half Lee Turley who distributed and kicked the ball prolifically all game setting the impressive open side Matt Allcock away to score , the try was converted by prop Morgan .With the Cinderford replacements taking the field a good tackle from Andrew Johnson turned the ball over , scrum half Hoult moved it swiftly sending Skipsey away on a slashing 70 meter run  with only desperate  tackle hauling him down short of the line , from the scrum a well rehearsed back row move sent flanker Harry Johnson over , from the restart the Foresters came again  a clean catch  and slick pass from lock Zac Miles sent Shields away great passing saw winger Matt Wilce dive over in the corner for the final score

Cinderford produced an outstanding display of committed rugby to defeat a strong Cheltenham A side , The Foresters were dominant throughout with the front row of Hopkins , Turley and Morgan in excellent form , the opening score came thorough slick handling and a great break centre by Robson Skipsey putting the outstanding fly half Lee Turley over in the corner , from the restart Cinderford were back on the attack with scrum half  Jackson and No 8 Shields combining well to make good ground  , Cheltenham pressed hard and great defence from  fullback Jenkins and winger Skelton kept them out . Following a scrum Allcock strayed offside and Cheltenham struck the penalty over .. A good lineout steal from lock William Kemp set Charlie Davis away and again neat passing saw rangy lock Marsh burst  over for a fine score  converted by Davis . The back row of Johnson , Shields and the outstanding Allcock were a potent force stopping many Cheltenham attacks and turning over a lot of ball in the contact area, from  ruck Cheltenham were penalised for handling the ball  and Davis struck a fine penalty to take a healthy lead in to half time .

 Playing down the slope the Foresters carried on in the same vain taking the game  to the visitors  , good all round play allowed Allcock to sprint clear for a good try converted by Davis ,  The Spa town visitors were struggling to get any momentum and the first time tackling was outstanding , from  another passage of pay prop Rhys Hopkins crashed over to cap a fine performance ,  this was converted by fellow prop Nathan Morgan who also enjoyed fine game .From the restart Cinderford lost scrum half Jackson who was replaced by Andrew Hoult  who was quickly into the game seizing on loose ball to secure good passion as Cheltenham attacked , by now all the replacements were on the field  Pearson , Harris,  Wilce  all playing a part in  great team performance .

Playing at Heywood school the Forest boys were up against tough opposition from Bristol . The opening exchanges were even with Cinderford shading the scrums with the front row of Rhys Hopkins , Tony Turley and Nathan Morgan scrummaging well, allowing a good platform for no 8 Jack Shields to make good ground , however the ball was turned over and the opportunity was lost ,Cleves back line looked dangerous whenever they moved the ball wide but some inaccurate passing often saw the ball spilled and the chance squandered. They  soon managed a to gain some good ground and with Cinderford penalised for handling on the floor Cleve kicked the penalty. The Foresters rallied and  good passage of play saw Cinderford awarded a penalty , with  3 points on offer from a simple penalty a rush of blood saw the ball quickly moved wide , a loose pass bounced on the floor AJ Jenkins kneed the ball forward the fullback then showed good pace to score a good but fortunate try ,prop Nathan Morgan concerted .

 

The second half started with Cleve putting together some good passages of play and Cinderford found themselves under the cosh ,only great defence kept the Bristol boys out with Matt Allcock , Robson Skipsey ,Tony and Lee Turley to the fore . The Cleve team were camped on the Cinderford line and a good pick and drive by Jordan Hopwood secured some good ground,  at the ruck Cleve were penalised and Charlie Davis cleared the line .. A good take in the lineout saw fly half Turley make a great break off loading to Allcock who sprinted clear to score a cracking try  Cleve stormed back and laid siege to the Cinderford line , again great defence held them out with all players making tackles as the whistle sounded to end the game,

Playing at the  Cinderford Bridge ground Berry Hill made a bright start moving the ball well and taking an early lead , The Hillmen were making light of the heavy conditions and looked dangerous , Cinderford defended well to Keep the visitors out with Tony Turley and Jack Shields tackling well . A sweeping 60 meter break by fly half Lee Turley took play deep into the oppositions half and fast ruck ball saw industrious flanker Jordan Hopwood crash over ..as the condition of the pitch worsened both side struggled to make ground , The Cinderford lads had the Berry Hill scrum under pressure with Caine Harris, Tony Turley and Nathan Morgan scrummaging well .A strong run by Andrew Johnson took play deep into the Hill half and fullback Jenkins sprinted clear to score ..

 Playing down the slope in the second half Cinderford began to look more comfortable  with flankers Johnson and Allcock linking well with the back line , however to often the last pass wasn’t good enough and several opportunities went begging , From a well worked scrum moved number eight Shields sent Allcock over under the posts converted by Nathan Morgan . The game was made safe as centre Robson Skipsey darted over in the last minute

The Cinderford boys were well beaten in their away game to Corsham , playing up the slope and against the wind the boys  stuck to their task going in at half time trailing 10 – 5 , Cinderford’s only score coming from the hardworking winger Mitch Skelton , in the second half the Foresters were second best in all departments as the strong running Corsham side scored several great try’s swatting aside the weak tackles … The boys and coaches have much hard work to do over the next few weeks ..

Cinderford U14s overcame a spirited Keynsham side 15 – 5 in a mud fest the Bridge ground , with puddles all over the pitch Keynsham started well with their fullback making a superb 60 yard break only a great tackle by Aj Jenkins kept him out , the game developed quickly into a forward battle with the Foresters just edging the contest , flanker Matt Allcock had a great game tackling and working hard  to turn over a lot of the oppositions ball , but despite  his best efforts Keynsham  scored first with their winger running through  and around several weak tackles to score .The front five  of Morgan , Turley and Hopkins , with locks Johnson and Hopwood working tirelessly to push Keysham off most scrums giving a good platform for attack

 

Playing down the slope Cinderford started well with good runs from wingers Skelton and Pearson,  The forward were going well with Jordan Hopwood outstanding in the rucks , Flanker Kemp left the field with a blood injury allowing Harry Johnson to move from Centre to back row , he was soon involved making a good turn over that allowed No8 Jack Shields to bundle his way over .Keysham rallied well trying to use the wind to pin the Foresters back , fullback Jenkins fielded everything that was kicked his way and ran the ball back making  huge ground on every occasion in a superb all round display ..The pressure was kept on the visitors when rangy lock March powered over to take the lead , The Keynsham lads battled back with  some good forward play  however   an incident at the ruck saw Cinderford prop Rhys Hopkins and the Keynsham flanker take 10 minutes in the sin bin

 

From a long kick down field by fly half Charlie Davis Cinderford chased hard and turned the ball over ,  a good move off the scrum put centre Robson Skipsey over in the corner . with 15 minutes to go replacement winger Matt Wilce was called up to make two try saving tackles , taking down players twice his size  with text book tackles …  , it was good to see some of the boys returning from injury to take part and strengthen the side over the coming week .

Berry Hill U 14s 7 V Cinderford U 14s 29

Wet weather greeted the Cinderford boys who kicked off against the wind and up the slope ,  the boys were making light of the conditions showing good hands in the wet  Guy Person made a touch line break being bundled into touch , from the lineout flanker  Matt Allcock piled over to score try converted by Charlie Davis .

 

From the restart  outstanding lock Andrew Johnson took a great catch and made some good ground leaving tacklers in his wake , quick ruck ball saw Harry Johnson kick through with Berry Hill just keeping the chasers out .  A clearance kick took play to the Berry Hill 15 meter line where slick handling saw winger Mitch Skelton cap a fine display with a great try .

 

 

Following half time Berry Hill came strongly , only stout defence kept them out with Kemp and Jenkins keeping them out .. A  penalty  5 Meters out from the line was taken and Berry Hill crashed over to score a converted try , this seemed to inspire the Cinderford lads as No 8 Jack Shields’ made a fine touchline run being bundled into touch at the try line  , following a penalty at the lineout Allcock crashed over from  quick tap .. 

Full back AJ Jenkins was having his best game of the season in a dynamic all-round display , with his speed into the line causing the Hill men many problems

one great run by Jenkins but the boys  back on the attack and another  penalty saw rangy lock Adam Marsh sprint over for a try converted by prop Nathan Morgan who was also having a fine game . The game ended with centre Dan Pearson going over in the corner again from some good passing from the back line capping off a fine team performance .

Monmouth U14s 12 V Cinderford U 14s 31 1st November 2009

Playing away at a rain swept Monmouth  the  Foresters quickly found themselves up  against a well drilled Monmouth side, Good hands from the backs sent winger Guy Peasron away on a great run being bundled into touch just by the try line.. Monmouth surged back with ex Cinderford winger Dan Sadler breaking several tackles to score a great try …

Cinderford battled hard with Mitch Skleton doing well and flanker Harry Johnson who was outstanding all day to the fore .

Monmouth recycled quick ball and only a superb tackle by AJ Jenkins kept them out .

 

Following half time replacement flanker Matt Allcock took a smart tap penalty and sprinted clear from half way for a splendid try converted by Nathan Morgan .

Allcock was soon back in the action scoring another good try ..The Foresters now enjoyed their best spell ,Captain and No 8 Jack Shields surged forward , well supported by Reece Hopkins and a fine pass from Elliot Davis saw winger Matt Wilce sprint over the try was converted by Charlie Davis. Prop forward  Tony Turley was tackling superbly and hit more rucks than many of his teams mates from one quick ruck ,fast ball saw fly half Davis chip through  he showed  great control as he kicked on the collect and dive over to score  .

From the restart lock Andrew Johnson  took a fine catch and made ground ,swift passing ser winger Dwaine Morris away to score with Elliot Davis converting . Monmouth scored a fine try late on
