Cinderford entertained Launceston at the Beavis Memorial ground.  Cinderford deservedly came out on top of this  preseason friendly, it proved a very useful workout for both teams.  The game was played over four 20 min sessions.

Cinderford started the game brightly moving the ball around confidently, after 4 min are awarded a penalty out wide which went narrowly wide of the posts. On 9 min Cinderford had a lineout just outside Launceston 22 a good catch and drive was held up on the 5 m line by strong Launceston defence, Cinderford moved the ball through numerous pairs of hands out to winger Nev Codlin to go over in the corner. The conversion was missed by Danny Trigg .

The start of the second period both sides made several changes Launceston were awarded a penalty just outside 22 decided to kick the ball to the corner from the resulting lineout good defensive work by the Cinderford forwards turned over the ball and cleared deep inside the Launceston half, Launceston  ran the ball back several good passages of play and were awarded a penalty in front of the posts this time decided to kick it  duly scored by full-back Kieran Lewitt.

Cinderford had a scrum just outside the Launceston 22, Launceston were penalised for early engagement, Cinderford deciding kick for touch the resulting lineout led to catch and drive to which Launceston had no answer and Joe Smart touched down for another try to Cinderford, the conversion was also missed .

The introduction of Rory Teague in the second period made a big difference.  Teague kicked the ball deep into the Launceston 22 from the lineout Cinderford turned over the ball and went through seven phases smart went over the line only to be adjudged to have been held up, from the resulting scrum Cinderford were penalised for feeding.  Launceston cleared their lines and were awarded a penalty 40 m out which Kieran Lewitt slotted over to bring the score to 10 6 at the end of the second period.

At the start of the third period Launceston started the better of the two sides, but could not turn any pressure into points Cinderford’s defence held Strong from a long kick downfield  Launceston failed to clear their lines Cinderford were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which she slotted over making the score 13 6 .

Cinderford then put the pressure on and were awarded a penalty for handling on the floor which Teague missed. Midway through the third period Cinderford had a scrum which Launceston  were judged to have wheeled giving Cinderford an easy opportunity for three more points in front posts slotted over by Teague this brought the end of the third period Cinderford 16 Launceston 6.

At the start of the last period both sides made wholesale changes Cinderford  gave a debut to 17-year-old Chance Ridler.  Launceston were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which Kyle Moyle scored to reduce the deficit 16 9 . This period was an even contest until 6 mins before time Cinderford again move the  ball across the backs and out wide waiting to pounce was Nev Codlin who raced away to score his second try of the game, the conversion was missed leaving the full-time result 21 9 to Cinderford.
