Cinderford U11s vs Coney Hill

Coney Hill were too strong for Cinderford U11s in Sundays fixture, but on the bright side the squad of fourteen Cinderford players who turned out never gave up and defended to the last. Undone by Coney Hills hunger for the loose ball Cinderford lost by eight tries to three, however, but for a Coney Hill ‘purple patch’ in the third quarter where they scored four unanswered tries the game was bit more even.

For Cinderford Ellis Peacey scored three tries with Anthony Slattery converting one and Jack Worgan converting the other two.

Front row forwards Campbell Hills, Louis Jayne, Fenn Edwards and Caleb Winter-Tear did well, Anthony Slattery made a fine length of the field run and Ellis Peacey who benefitted from the best bits of Cinderfords play were the players of the day.

Post match the eight that went back to the Club house demolished some thirty hot-dogs and what looked like a half hundred weight of chips – ‘carb-loading’ for next week’s Gloucestershire Under 11s Festival at Tewkesbury!. Campbell, as usual won the lemonade boat race.

Squad: Jack Worgan, Scott Hodder, Harrison Peates, Fenn Edwards, Ellis Peacey,Ben Jones, Edwin Mathieson, Sam Carpenter, Rory Pritchard, Anthony Slattery, Reece Davis Lewis, Caleb Winter-Tear, Campbell Hills, Louis Jayne
