Cinderford Upbeat for Home Game v Wharfedale RFC

Cinderford Upbeat for Home Game v Wharfedale RFC
Saturday 11 February KO 2.30pm (SSE National 1 League)
This Saturday sees a home fixture for the Foresters following an impressive start to 2012 featuring three wins, including a great win game against table top tier Rosslyn Park at the Foresters last home fixture a couple of weeks ago.
Said Andy Deacon, director of rugby: "The guys are training well despite the cold, and we are really upbeat and prepared for our two very important next games against Wharfedale on Saturday at home (weather permitting!) and then away to Stourbridge the week after. If we can get to Stourbridge after a victory against Wharfedale, I think that will put us in a very good position. Then we have another break before we get into the final phase of the season.
We are driven to finish in the highest position that we deserve given our good form and so we have set ourselves hard targets that are going to push the guys all the way. But the belief is there in the squad and with the coaches. Our consistency and hard work all season is now paying off.
The Cinderford team carries a couple of changes this weekend whereby loan prop Yann Thomas comes back on to the Cinderford side following his Gloucester Rugby LV= Cup commitments and Tom Bozzard starts as hooker as Sam Wilkes is unavailable for selection. Rory Teague is back at ten having recovered from a hip niggle picked up a few weeks ago and Mike Wilcox moves back to full back. After impressing, Danny Trigg moves to the United side who are playing away against Shrewsbury First XV, as are Cinderford Stags who will play Shrewsbury 2nds.
Danny Pointon starts as scrum-half and Luke Carter is on the bench. Dewi Scourfield holds his place at twelve with Simeon James back on the bench having recovered from a dead leg picked up at Jersey.
After losing to Wharfedale away in October we will be determined to reverse the score and it's always important when you play someone below you in the league to maintain the focus, work rate and performance, but they will be coming here with the same objective as us, to move into mid table, so we need to keep our top form where we have more than shown we can match the leagues' best sides. For us it's another must win game and rugby icon Vix (Phil Vickery) will be there on the sidelines with us."
