Air Ambulance Cheque...
Andrew Hoult (CRFC U12s) and Matthew Hawkins (CRFC U14s) presenting a cheque on behalf of Cinderford RFC for £720 to Mr Arthur Worthington, Fundraising Services Manager, County Air Ambulance Trust immediately prior to Saturdays 1st XV Cup match between Cinderford and Canterbury .

This sum was raised through sponsored walks by Cinderford RFC Junior section as a gesture of thanks to the Air Ambulance service. This follows two separate on-field accidents last season in which both boys pictured required to be airlifted to hospital for medical treatment as a result of on field incidents whilst playing for their respective Cinderford RFC juniors team. Thankfully, neither was seriously injured and both made a speedy recovery and return to playing rugby for their respective Cinderford RFC Junior section teams.

Air Ambulance Incident...
(County Air Ambulance paramedics attending Matt Hawkins on the Dockham Road main pitch. Matt was knocked unconscious during last season's U13s County Cup pool match against Dursley in March (the U13s won 29-5). Matt made a quick and full recovery but was forced to lay off for a few weeks, but made it back in time to play in the County Cup final in April.)

In response to the donation by CRFC Junior Section, Mr. Arthur Worthington responded with the following thanks of behalf of the County Air Ambulance Trust:

The County Air Ambulance service operates three helicopters covering the whole of central England and the Welsh borders. The service responds rapidly bringing the best skills in pre-hospital care to the public when they really need it. The service delivers a speedy and safe recovery of patients from the scene of their incident to the most suitable hospital depending on that patients' individual need. These actions dramatically improve the patient's prospects of a good recovery. All of which is due to the generosity of people like Matthew and Andrew and their families, friends and supporters at Cinderford RFC who provide essential aid to this vital, life saving service. We are extremely grateful for their enthusiasm and efforts on our behalf.
