Widden Old Boys 19 Cinderford 22

The two sides agreed to play a 15 a side trial game in preparation for next season, and a thrilling game was witnessed. The Widden Boys were much quicker to adapt to the extra men and space and soon scored a quick converted try, With some good kicking from Farrell the Cinderford boys were struggling to recover the ball being kicked behind them and mistakes happened resulting in an another converted score.

The Forest boys slowly began to get back into the game with excellent running from Mitch Skelton and Guy Pearson making good ground, From one good piece of forward play with Hooker William Kemp and lock Adam Marsh carrying well, Charlie Davis weaved over for a great try, he missed the conversion from out wide

In the second half Widden scored again to leave the boys flagging, but a spirited fight back was underway led by the back row of Alcock , Johnson and Love , who worked well together , A good drive by lock Leadbeater saw a great pass from Scrum half Hoult and slick passing by Davis and Skelton saw Dan Pearson put his brother Guy away on the wing , with 3 players to beat Pearson senior scorched down the touch line for a fantastic score.

With Widden exerting more pressure Charlie Alexander who had played well was replaced by Caleb Dave Meek who was soon into his elusive stride making a good run to see Alcock dash over, Davis added the conversion to bring the game close.

A great take at the kick off saw Skelton again make good ground, quick ruck ball, then driven on again by the forwards saw prop Jordan Hopwood crash over for the Foresters to take the lead.

With the crowd on tender hooks and Physio Mark Alcock almost unable to watch, Widden came again, fantastic defence kept them at bay with Josh Newchap doing well and Harry Johnson outstanding, a huge clearance by Davis saw the pressure relieved and the final whistle sounded for a great win after coming from behind
