Match report courtesy of the Forester
Cinderford United beat Weston 27-6. Weston started strongly but Cinderford took the lead with a Pete Towers penalty.Weston levelled, but Cinderford came back with the try of the match - turning over Weston ball in their own 22 and racing forward at pace.
Curtis Cunningham beat three defenders on the outside, giving a scoring pass to Gloucester Academy centre Dan Gordan. The conversion was missed.
The second-half belonged to Cinderford. With 15 minutes to go, however, they still only led 8-6 as Weston defended stubbornly. Weston repeatedly infringed at the breakdown and eventually they had a man sin-binned for going in at the side once too often. Cinderford capitalised with tries from Steve Barnes, Curtis Cunningham and replacement prop Mark Bluett. Joe Wearne kicked two conversions.
Prop Chris Bundy stood out for Cinderford, putting the Weston scrum under pressure and working hard in the loose.
