Played at wind swept Widden on Saturday 08 Mar 08, Cinderford Stags scored seven tries in beating Old Boys by 43 points to six. The Stags stay top of GRFU Citizen Merit Table 1 with a 100% record.

The first half was a close affair, with Widden exerting a fair amount of pressure, forcing a couple of penalties from the Stags. Both penalties were converted but in the very windy conditions, a drop goal attempt was missed. The Stags first half score came from prop Mark Bluett, who crashed over relatively close to the posts giving centre Jason Rowles the chance to convert. The half-time score was 7 points to 6 in the Stags favour.

The second half started as the first with Widden holding their own, but with 25 minutes to go, the Stags superior fitness began to tell and the scoring floodgates opened. Six tries were scored through winger Ryan Davies, back row forwards Andy Boxall and Jake Hinds, substitute James Taylor, fullback Jonny Kibble and a second try from prop Mark Bluett. Three conversions were made through Jason Rowles, prop Mike Baldwin and outside half Luke Beard.
