Cinderford travelled to their local rivals Drybrook 3rds for an early kick off to allow for the England v Australia game. Although the final score of nil nil you may be thinking minds were elsewhere, this was not the case.

A good hard fought local derby where know one took a backward step, yet every player tried to play rugby. Tactical kicking was not at its best or the vision of the overlap, opportunities being missed by both sides.

Cinderford arrived with 23 players and when 7 replacements were made during the second half, it took time to gel. Coach Mark Gayther explained ‘’ it is a big ask for some of our players to step up from junior to senior rugby and we need to provide the experience gradually’’.

Wayne Phillips received a yellow card for questioning the referee, which was not a good example to the younger players.
