Cinderford Match Report
Cinderford Bucks 17 Old Richians 3rds 0
On a dank and dismal afternoon, Cinderford bucks took on Old Richians, on a slightly boggy, but playable Bridge pitch. This was their third meeting this season, with Cinderford having home advantage for the first time.

The game began with competitive rugby by both sides and it wasn’t until mid way into the first half that Cinderford finally broke the deadlock. An infringement by Richians around the halfway line gave an opportunity for James Colwell to take a quick tap and go, bursting through the Richians defence and around the full back to score the first try, duly converted by Mark Gayther.

Cinderford soon doubled the score. From a ruck near the ten metre line, the Cinderford forwards worked the ball to James Colwell, who whipped the ball out to Ben Phelps who ran through the Richians defence, to score the second try, again converted by Mark Gayther.
Half Time : Cinderford Bucks 14 Old Richians 3rds 0
The second half was a more dogged affair. Pete Balaz came so close to a third try and after struggling to get within a metre of the line knocked the ball on.

With the ground sapping the energy from both teams, many substitutions were made. Towards the end of the game tempers were becoming a little frayed and when a Cinderford penalty was moved forward ten metres after some Richians back chat, Mark Gayther made the most of it and slotted the ball over the posts for the final score of the game.

This was a good performance by Cinderford Bucks, but flanker Daine Bradley had an outstanding game and was rewarded with the man of the match.
