Cinderford edged past Sale in a match that remained in the balance right up until the final whistle.

Having lost their three previous games, the visitors looked dangerous in the opening exchanges, but it was the home team who scored first with a penalty from Joe Winfield.  Sale went in front after 18 minutes of play, when following a series of pick and goes second-row Nick Gray forced his way over for a try, which Matt Bradley converted.  The home team soon responded when the ball was moved quickly out wide and winger Will Hendy stepped inside to score a try, which Winfield converted.

The score remained unchanged at 10-7 up to the interval, but it was the visitors who were able to re-take the in 56th minute when an exchange of passes saw replacement prop Edward Stagg dive over the line for an unconverted try.  Cinderford pressed forward from the re-start and a couple of penalties allowed them to set up an attacking lineout from which a powerful drive forwards saw Joe Mullis reach out over the line to be awarded the try.  The home side then held their nerve in the closing stages to close out a third victory of the season.
