Cinderford Number 8 Harry Hone (29) will continue to captain the National One club for the 2022-23 season.

Hone was appointed in the summer of 2020 but due to the pandemic the 2021-2022 season was his first as captain. The former Avonmouth Old Boys and Birmingham Moseley player joined Cinderford in the summer of 2017 and is on the cusp of his 100th appearance for Cinderford with his current appearances total standing at 99.

Cinderford Director of Rugby commented “it was an easy decision to reappoint Harry. He’s been one of the best signings this club has made and is an outstanding player. Captaincy is not easy for anyone and there are always difficult moments but he had plenty of highs last season and Harry’s thirst for winning is infectious and an important ingredient in our playing culture. I am sure he will continue to drive standards within our playing group.”

Hone said “I’m delighted to be asked to continue as captain of Cinderford. A club I’ve grown to love. I learnt a lot last season and am determined to keep improving my own play and the playing standards and culture of the club as a whole. Our supporters deserve to watch a committed and passionate 1st XV on Saturdays. I will do my best to help make sure we reach the standards they expect of us.”
