Cinderford completed their preparations for the 22/23 season with a match against Championship side Hartpury University.
The home side fielded a squad of thirty-seven players in a game played over three sessions. The first session saw the visitors quickly into their stride as they raced into a 17-0 lead, after this however, the Foresters were much more competitive as the second session remained scoreless. The final session saw Hartpury score two further tries before the home team were finally rewarded for their efforts when they were awarded a penalty try.
Despite the defeat Cinderford will have taken a lot of positives from their performance as they look forward to the opening games on the 3rd September.
