The United picked up a very creditable draw at Esher in their opening Zoo Sports Shield match of the season. At one stage the Forest team were 22-3 ahead, but it took a late penalty from Dan Pointon to secure a draw. Young debutant Jenson Boughton was outstanding scoring two tries, along with another score from Lewis Beer, Pointon also kicked two conversions and another penalty.
