Cinderford suffered the disappointment of a late cancellation of their pre-season fixture with Llandovery, with their opponents unable to complete their journey due to a bus breakdown.
A game was hastily arranged between the home squad and proved to be a worthwhile exercise with the ‘Reds’ overcoming the ‘Greens’ 17-7. Will Hendy, Mikey Wilcox and Joe Mullis scored tries for the ‘Reds’ along with a conversion from Joe Winfield. The ‘Greens’ grabbed a well deserved late consolation try through Stan Norman, which Joe Langbridge converted.
Cinderford will be hoping for better luck next Saturday, when Pontypridd RFC are the visitors to Dockham Road (KO 3pm).
