Scrum-half Sam Allford scored five tries as the United comfortably defeated Barton Hill in C1WN. Tom Samak also crossed twice and Will Anderson added another. Joe Langbridge kicked seven conversions.
Cinderford Stags 30-29 Norton
Cinderford left it late to win as Norton surged ahead in the early stages, establishing a formidable 19-0 lead, the Stags did not back down.
It took Cinderford 30 minutes to get on the scoreboard, with Liam Littleton managing to bundle over the line, and Brett Turner successfully converting the try. As the first half neared its end, Cinderford found their rhythm, and Keyan Littleton added another try in the corner, though the conversion was missed. Brett Turner’s precision from the 40-meter line brought the halftime score to a tight 19-15, with Norton still holding the lead.
The second half saw Paddy Hinds breaking free from his own half, almost crossing the line but tackled just 5 meters away. Lewis Mason capitalized on the opportunity, scoring with Paddy Hinds converting the try to give Cinderford a 22-19 lead. Norton, however, mounted a comeback, quickly adding 10 points to their tally and reclaiming the lead at 22-29. The Stags fought back as Tom Reynolds dashed down the wing to score in the corner, although the conversion attempt was unsuccessful. With the game hanging in the balance, Jay Watkins stepped up with nerves of steel. With the final kick of the game, he slotted a penalty from near the halfway line, sealing a remarkable 30-29 victory for Cinderford.
