Cinderford 21 – Taunton Titans 34

National League Rugby | Attendance: 320

Second-half brilliance from Taunton Titans saw them pull away for a 34–21 win over Cinderford at Bell Sports & Rugby Park.

The visitors had the first opportunity of the afternoon, but Cinderford’s defence stood firm, holding the ball up over the line. Moments later, the hosts struck first — a superb line break created space for Oliver Johnson to go over, with Sonny Greenman adding the extras.

Taunton responded through a Tom Putt penalty to narrow the gap, and soon after they moved ahead when winger Oscar Kolowski showed sharp footwork to finish in the corner.

Cinderford hit back before the interval. A brilliant offload from Hugo Murray released Harry Tovey for their second try, converted again by Greenman, giving the home side a 14–8 lead at half-time.

The Titans came out firing after the break, scoring just 41 seconds into the second half through Joseph Elsworthy, with Putt converting. Their momentum grew as Reece Malone sliced through under the posts, and Putt’s kick extended the lead.

Further tries from Freddy Elliot and Connor Banks pushed Taunton clear, Putt adding one more conversion to cap a dominant spell.

Cinderford did have the final say — Hugo Murray powered his way over late on, with Greenman completing his third successful conversion — but it was too late to change the outcome.

Taunton’s second-half display proved decisive, while Cinderford will look to regroup ahead of their next National League fixture.
