FOD Combination Junior Cup Semi-Final

Cinderford started strong, opening the scoring after 7 minutes with Tom Reynolds scoring the first try, followed by a missed conversion from Paddy Hinds. The lead increased when Reuben Hinds scored a try in the corner, extending the lead to 10-0. Drybrook got on the scoreboard with Andy Milner successfully slotting a penalty, cutting Cinderford’s lead to 10-3.  However, Cinderford responded swiftly with Will Baldwin capitalizing on a clearance kick, scoring under the posts to extend the lead to 17-3. The latter part of the first half was intense, with Drybrook pushing hard and finally scoring their first try just before halftime, making the score 17-8.

In the second half, Drybrook came out strong, scoring early on to narrow Cinderford’s lead to 17-15. Drybrook’s relentless attack and strong running kept Cinderford under pressure, but the Stags showed real determination to turn the game in their favor. In a pivotal moment, Cinderford’s Paddy Hinds made a break from halfway, almost reaching the try line before being tackled. However, quick thinking and fast ball recycling allowed Lewis Mason to power over from short range, extending Cinderford’s lead to 22-15.

In the final stages, Tom Reynolds sealed the victory for Cinderford, ending the game at 27-15. Both teams displayed immense determination and heart throughout the match.
Cinderford Stags will now advance to the Final to face Bream on Saturday, 4th May.
