Cinderford United 55 – 21 Stroud
Cinderford United turned on the style under the Friday night lights at the Bell Sports & Rugby Park, running in an emphatic eight-try victory over Stroud in their Counties 2 clash.
United set the tone early and never looked back, playing with confidence, tempo and real attacking intent. Sean Gardner led the charge with a superb hat-trick of tries, repeatedly finding gaps in the Stroud defence and finishing clinically.
Fin Gunter and James Kear both added braces of their own as United continued to stretch the visitors with strong carries and quick hands, while Sam Baker and Conn Mundie also got in on the act to cap a dominant team performance.
Stroud battled gamely and had their moments, but United’s depth and consistency proved decisive as the scoreboard continued to tick over throughout the contest.
Matt Tinker was influential with the boot, calmly converting five of United’s tries to keep the pressure firmly on and reward the side’s attacking ambition.
A convincing win, an entertaining night for the supporters, and another strong statement from Cinderford United as they continue their Counties 2 campaign in impressive fashion.
