Cinderford Vets were re-established with this game; a game which showed lots of experience, enthusiasm and mistakes. It was a hard fought, full-on encounter where the defences were the controlling factors. However, Weston broke the deadlock when, just before half time their number 8 burrowed over to place the ball on the goal line for a try. The missed conversion was the final play of the half. The second half saw Cinderford taking more control and following some neat inter-passing and pick-ups Mike Wallis crossed the line for a try under the posts which Danny Trigg converted. Weston came back into the game when a series of penalties put them on to the Cinderford 5 yard line but Cinderford managed to hold up the maul for the final whistle. Weston-super-Mare 5 Cinderford 7.
