It was more of the same from Cinderford as their dismal form on the road continued with a seventh successive defeat at Esher.

Once again the visitors gifted their opponents the initiative when Luke Daniels kicked an early penalty and then he converted a try from Ashley Smith, who intercepted a loose pass to sprint clear and score. Further tries from Mike McFarlane and Dave Millard, both of which were converted by Daniels put Esher firmly in charge of the match as they led 24-0 at half-time.

Spencer Sutherland soon touched down for the bonus point try after the re-start, however Cinderford were given some brief respite when Esher were temporarily reduced to 13 men, after two of their forwards were shown yellow cards in quick succession.

The visitors eventually claimed a consolation score when centre Jack Adams went over for a well-taken try. There was still time though for Esher to re-assert their dominance with a fifth try and a second from McFarlane, with Daniels again adding the extras.
